Tonight I'll be doing a battle report for a Brawl Practice game. My White Scars/Iron Hands vs Necrons.

I win the roll to go first and give him First Turn. Its vital because if he goes second he can just stay inside the Night Scythes and land on last turn on objs to win the game. I didn't want that to happen.
My obj 1 and his obj 2 on the right side.

I combat squad all 4 tactical squads and leave them off the table to outflank. Drop pod with Sternguard come in turn 1. IH Rhino and squad into reserves. I deploy the Chapter Master and Khan joined to the bottom Thunderfire Cannon. The other TFC to the top right ruin.
He deploys his 3 anni barges to the top left and Command Barge and wraithstar in the front. 4 Night Scythes and the 2 tomb blades in reserves
I dont try to seize.

Top Turn 1
He moves his anni barges around a bit. The wraithstar moves then runs to the left. His Warlord CCB moves to the middle of the table.
Bottom Turn 1
First thing I do is try to land my Drop Pod in front of his anni barges to go for 1st Blood and 1 pt on the Primary Big Guns. I roll the scatter and 2 d6. I see an arrow pointing left and double 6s come up. Ah!!!! I mishap barely touching off the board by about an half an inch. Good fortune for me I roll a 5 and they go back to reserves. Phew. Giving up first blood would of been huge!
I shoot a thunderfire cannon at wraiths and kill 1. Orbital Bombardment misses and scatters off.
Im on his obj 2 on the right and pick up a point. He's on my obj 2 and he picks up a point.

All his Night Scythes come in. He keeps his tomb blades off the table.
His wraithstar moves closer to my TFC on the top right. He makes sure I can't counter attack with my Bikers.
2 Night Scythes shoot into top Thunderfire Cannon. He causes a wound.
2 other Night Scythes shoot into Bikers and Artillery unit. With my unit being T7 he causes 3 wounds. I look out sir 1 and Khan fails it. The Chapter Master passes the other turn.
Bottom Turn 2
3 Rhinos come from Outflank. 2 on the left. 1 on the right. IH Rhino comes on my board edge.
Bikers move left to gain some distance from his wraithstar. I'm confident enough that the Night Scythes wont do much damage with the Chapter Master tanking wounds on a 2+ with 6+ feel no pain.
1 Rhino by his Obj 1 and close to his board edge. Already in Linebreaker position.
1 Rhino on my Obj 2 in the Ruins.
Drop Pod sticks the landing next to his anni barges. 5 Combi Melta shots. 4 hits. 3 penetration results. He jinks and fails 2. I roll a 5 and it blows up with a +3 on the result for being open topped and AP1.
First Blood goes to me.

He holds his Obj 1 with an anni barge. I hold his Obj 2 with a Thunderfire Cannon with 1wound. I also destroyed his anni barge for 1pt.

He flies his flyers forward to shoot my IH Rhino and the bikers.. His wraithstar gets close enough to be able to charge my thunder fire an d utterly kills it.
He rolls hot on one Night Scythe and wrecks my IH Rhino.
He shoots into the bikers and I get lucky rolls to only take 1 wound on Khan.
More great rolls from him. He shoots an anni barge at the Rhino and pops it. Combat squads come out. Command Barge shoots into Sternguard and kills 2.
Again like nothing he wrecks my Rhino and the 2 squads come out. His 4th Night Scythe in front of the Drop Pod shoots and definitely glances it to death.
I lost 4 transports this turn.
He charges my Sternguard with his Command Barge. He wounds 3 times and Im so lucky that I roll 3 6s for my feel no pains. Iron Hands Chapter Tactics pay off!
Poor Techmarine had no chance in combat. The wraithstar tore it apart.
Bottom Turn 3
More fun stuff for me. I move up my melta gun unit. I shoot twice into the anni barge. Penetrate 1. He fails his jink and I roll a 4 to blow it up. Crazy lucky roll!
You see how the Anni barge is gone?. I did it again! 1 hit, 1 pen, 1 missed jink and I roll a 4. WoW!
I move 12in and flat to take and hold his Obj 2. Objective Secured units are soo good.
My Thunderfire Cannon kept shooting the wraiths bringing the squad down to 2 and 1W done on the destroyer lord.
Maelstrom Points
I took away his obj 2 for 1 pt, but he got a pt for destroying my transports. I also destroyed an enemy unit. 2pts for me this turn.

His tomb blades auto come in. They shoot the Rhino on his Obj 2 and wreck it. His flyers fly off. 1 turns to my left. He charges my unit of Khan, Chapter Master and the Thunderfire Cannon.
Khan dies from Wraith attacks. I lose Warlord. Chapter Master stuck in challenge with Dlord. I fail mindshackles but pass saves.
Bottom of 4.
I kill a Tomb blade. I failed to wound the other one.
I charge into the combat. Nothing really happens. I did this so my 5 tacs don't get shot next turn.
I charge 2 units into the Warlord Barge. Im able to penetrate it with a melta bomb and bring its shield down to AV11. I lose 2 sternguard in return.
I grab a point for killing his tomb blade. He doesn't pick up any this turn.

We kinda stop counting Maelstrom since there isn't a chance for him to catch up and just concedes that secondary mission to me.
Top Turn 5
It's turn 5 and he goes for the win. His flyers move on. He drops his 4 warrior squads on 3 objs to contest and hopefully kill me off of 1 of them. Last turn grabs.
We contest here. 2 squads of mine to his 2 squads of warriors.
We also contest here. He shot to try and make me run off the board but I passed my morale check.
On my turn 4 I actually lost combat to his Dlord. I rolled to fall back and miraculously rolled double 1s to be within an inch of the edge. So on my turn I just moved them to where they are at in the picture.
This objective was contested by a lone warrior of his. Lucky lone survivor.
Here he tried to shoot me off of the only uncontested obj on the board but it wasn't meant to be. I had a Rhino and 2 5man squads holding it.
We end up going to turn 6 but nothing really changed. We just exchanged blows in combat trying to kill eachother off on the objs.
Here Im able to surround his Warlord Command Barge and finally bring him down with Kraks and Melta Bombs. I grab Warlord just like he did a few turns ago for killing Khan. Revenge is sweet.
I win Big Guns 6-2, Maelstrom 7-4 and get Linebreaker, 1st blood, Warlord for a total of 10 pts.
He gets line breaker and warlord for 2pts.
game ends 10-2.
He just had a hard time killing my units. I had great board control and was able to be on the objs by making him go first. I feel he played a good game. He went for the win on turn 5 but just couldn't kill a unit to take over the obj. He's a very good player and he's only 15yrs old. He's one of our young bloods in the team. He will surely do awesome at his second GT this year. Watch out for him at the Brawl. His name is Stick Cameron .
